Yesterday I stopped by the Sheyenne National Grassland just south of Fargo, ND. Driving through, there were billions of Killdeer and thousands of Wilson's Snipes. The snipes were often sitting on posts by the side of the road as was this Marbled Godwit. I got to hear both of them calling. I took the pic of the godwit through a scope and was too close to get the feet on the post. When I got to a trail head I walked in for about 5 minutes and found a Baird's Sparrow! That is a new one for the year! It was a great look for a few minutes sitting up singing. A lady walked in with a couple of labs running all over and they wouldn't leave with her so I had to walk out so the dogs would leave. I already saw more than I hoped for so that was fine.

Only a few of you look at my blog so I think I am going to wait to post until I get a comment after the last entry. That way I won't be posting everyday for no reason. Tell me if there is anybody who looks everyday and I will just post everyday regardless.

I don't get a chance to look every day, but try to check sometimes to see what's up. Nice photo of the Wilson's Snipe by the way...it looks like one of mine!

Thanks Brian. I took the godwit and the snipe picture the same way. The snipe was only good for a "guess what?" I sure would like to get a nice camera. Have you had a chance to i.d. the hawk picture a couple of posts back?
