I am not going to make it to Florida to see the flycatcher...just can't work it in the schedule. As most of you know the goal for this year was 500 North American species. I am not going to make it. I was going to try and cram 2 more trips in before the end of the year but it makes more sense to plan them for the beginning of next year and make another run at it. Speaking of run at it, I have been reading Runner's World mag and watching calorie intake. I have been running a bit as well. I am adding a weight tracker under the species count and weigh ins are every other week. The first one is Monday a week from now. The goal is 5 lbs lost. My neighbor has a scale and it will be the official weigh in scale from now on. My starting weight was 316lbs. No, I didn't gain 6 lbs, her scale is different than my doctors. The initial goal is 200lbs.
The species count will reset to zero on New Years day.

You can do it, all night long! Ok, well for a while at least. I dragged my sorry butt up a 1 mi climb on the bike, 3 times today in 32 degree temps, plus a few other tough hills. If I can manage that and a few dogs chasing me for bonus sprints, you can get down that road!!!
Thanks Scott!
I am considering starting a blog of my food intake and excercise every day too. I am scared to do it. But, if I do, it would keep me much more honest and probably give me that extra motivation on the days I need it.

It is tough to hold yourself accountable for food. Look at me, I ate probably 15 chocloate chip cookies and 6 slices of banana bread (with choco chips) this weekend. After 4 hrs on the bike this weekend, I think I gained weight!
