CUB SCOUTS & BUZZARDS

Yesterday after Liam's cross-country race we had a 4 hour marathon of scouting fun in the form of the 2008 Archery & BB Gun Academy. It was at Camp Michaels out in rural Burlington, Ky and consisted of hundreds of 6 - 9 year olds holding weapons of various sorts to include slingshots, bows & arrows, bb guns and boomerangs. Liam had a great time and was good with the gun which he had never tried before yesterday. The birding highlight was about 50 Turkey Vultures circling the event waiting to take any fallen youngsters. I heard one mother tell her child they were buzzards and another man telling his wife all about exactly how they use thermals to fly really fast. e2
