CEMETERY BIRDING

Went back to Spring Grove Cemetery to moans of "Oh, cemeteries are boring, I don't want to go hear!" Birding with the 3 little ones is so much fun. After we got out of the car and started walking around they had fun and things went OK. Them and I were both excited to see a Sharp-shinned Hawk fly over and land just above us briefly. I was awarded great looks at a flock of White-winged Crossbills again and Golden-crowned Kinglets were everywhere. It was a fun hour or so but I didn't find any Common Redpoll. As we got in the car and interest started to wane I had to bribe them with quarters for finding birds to make it out alive. The bounty for a sparrow with a red hat was at $10 and $1,000,000 for a flock of 100 of them! They thought it was very funny that we may have been there so long that they would just have to bury us.

BWS has joined you E2 in the "falling on ice and hitting head" club. Except he got 6 stitches.

We missed the Snowy Owl today, but I am getting a pellet it hacked up for diet assessment.

Luckily he is a bonehead and wasn't seriously injured.
